Lesley H Phillips  Silversmith

Predominantly the theme of my handmade silver jewellery is the contemporary sleek and clean lines of the early 20th Century, the Art Deco Era. However, living and working near the coast in Dorset, you will see as you browse through the website that I cannot fail to be inspired by the beauty of the surrounding countryside with my Coastal and Green Collections.

The Green Collection also alludes to the fact that I only purchase my bullion from dealers who use mines for their gold and silver who adhere to the "Golden Rules" of mining:

these rules ensure that the workers and surrounding areas are protected and that this can be independently verified

All these EXCLUSIVE works are protected by Design Rights in the UK & EU to ensure that each item is as individual as the person wearing it

My bespoke jewellery is hand crafted using traditional methods with the highest degree of care and skill in my Dorset studio

PROFILE

Lesley H Phillips
Silversmith & Designer

Born in Dorset, Lesley's love of the countryside has meant that she has set up her studio in this beautiful County.

She developed a passion for creating bespoke jewellery from precious metal and has combined this with with her love of the 1920's - 1930's style and elegance.
Whilst studying for her degree (1997 -2000), she discovered she had a natural aptitude in the art of design. Whilst undertaking a successful career, she realised that her true focus lay with silversmithing and design.  She has since left her full time employment and now works as a self employed jewellery designer and silversmith.

In 2007 she received a prestigious Gold Award for Work of Outstanding Merit in the Centennial Dorset Exhibition.

In August 2008 she won the only Gold Award presented to the competing silversmiths'.

2009 was once again been a successful year in the Dorset Exhibition with Lesley winning Gold Awards for the 4 entries she made into this year's competition. Her silver, gold and diamond pendant was further awarded the Dutton Trophy for Metalwork, presented by Mrs Sally Weld DL.

April 2010 brought a further success for Lesley when she was contacted by VOGUE magazine who invited her to participate in a feature on bespoke jewellery, entitled "Beautifully Bespoke".  She was advised that they try and search out smaller designers who they feel would suit their prestigous magazine and her designer jewellery was just what they were looking for.
